Allied Consulting Launches New CFO Roundtable Series: Discussions Look to Grow and Strengthen Key Wisconsin Companies

Published on

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in July 2016, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate was 4.2 compared to the U.S.’s, 4.9. Also, the State grew jobs from June of this year to July by 9,100 jobs or by a 3 percent increase.

The State is moving in the right direction in terms of lowering the unemployment level and increasing job growth. But with the uncertainty of an election year on the horizon, how do Wisconsin companies ensure they keep themselves and the state growing economically?

“Allied Consulting has been doing business in the Milwaukee area for over 35 years, helping mid-sized companies succeed both personally and professionally,” said John Howman, president, Allied Consulting. “That’s why we’re starting a new roundtable series with the first one focusing on chief financial officers. These will be peer-based member-only groups.”

The inaugural roundtable will take place on xx at xx from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be modified by xx. Participants include xx from Owner’s Edge, xx from Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and xx from Greyhound Lines, Inc. The topic will be xx.

“Why we realize there are other roundtables taking place in our state, we think our formula is unique,” said Howman. “We will offer a well-trained facilitator with first-hand experience, guest speakers in which members can bring their own employees to learn from and constructive feedback meant to develop an action plan for future business success.”

The format for each roundtable will be the same with the total number of active members not to exceed 12 people.
There will be six meetings a year with four to six one-on-one meetings between the facilitator and each group member. Meetings will be conducted at the members’ offices with a continental breakfast and light lunch served.

“After hosting several direct meetings with CEOs and CFOs throughout Wisconsin, we identified a growing set of similar developmental needs for financial executives,” said Howman. “We are excited to explore each one of these topics at future roundtables.”

These topics will center around, hearing from expert speakers within the industry, learning and sharing best practices, engaging in one-on-one coaching, improving business development skills, enhancing soft/presentation skills and growing/mentoring department staff.

If a company is looking to participate, membership in the roundtables are by invitation only. Potential roundtable members are evaluated privately by the chair and presented to the existing members for consideration. There are no competing members or direct areas of conflict. Dues are $7,000 per year paid quarterly in advance. Founding member dues are guaranteed through the end of 2017.
